Holyland suspect Yehoshua Pollack, a former senior Jerusalem City Hall official, was released on Tuesday afternoon to a 10-day house arrest with restrictions. Pollack was remanded on Thursday for one week by the Rishon L’Tzion Magistrate’s Court, but he is being released ahead of schedule.
Pollack was seen being escorted from a prison infirmary earlier in the day, driven in a police vehicle to the courthouse. His attorney expressed satisfaction with the decision to release him to house arrest.
Upon his arrival at home, in Yerushalayim’s Gush 80 neighborhood, there was a large contingent of media and well-wishers. He did not speak with anyone. Among the notables seen outside was Betar Illit Mayor Meir Rubinstein.
