Minister Shalom Calls on PA Not to Boycott Yosh Goods

Minister of Regional Development (Likud) Silvan Shalom has turned to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) not to implement a boycott of goods produced in areas throughout Yehuda and Shomron. The minister explains that one who engages in such an act is not genuinely interested in peace but promoting a continuation of the conflict.

The minister added that this not only complicates efforts towards dialogue, but it impacts the jobs of the 25,000 PA (Palestinian Authority) residents earning a livelihood in one of the businesses in communities throughout Yehuda and Shomron.

Ironically he adds, while Israel is working to improve economic realities in the PA, such a move is contrary to both peace efforts and economic policies.

Shalom called on the PA leader not to continue with this policy which is contrary to all efforts towards dialogue and ending the long-standing conflict.
