Hamas has released an animated video of Gilad Shalit, seeking to turn up the pressure on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his government. The film is reportedly released by the Izzadin el-Kassam faction of Hamas, warning the plight of Gilad Shalit may be the same as IAF navigator Ron Arad.

The animated video is supposed to be in Gilad’s voice, sending regards from prison. He expresses his sorrow for the “lank of interest in his plight” on the part of the IDF and others, showing billboards of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, both in the foreground of Israeli flags. He calls on the prime minister “not to waste this opportunity” and to bring him home.

The video explains that ultimately, the price for Gilad’s release will have to be paid, and as a result of Israel nonfeasance, the government will have to establish the “Ministry of Prisoners and Missing” to address the situation. The message is the ultimately, until Hamas’ prisoners are set free by Israel, other IDF soldiers will have to be taken prisoner.
