Ohr Asual, 17, from Kfar Saba was this year’s winner of the International Bible Competition. Her father was a second place winner in the competition 27 years ago. The second place slot went to Elad Nachshon, from Rechovot, and the third place when to Avner Netanyahu, 15, the prime minister’s son.

Avner’s mother, Mrs. Binyamin Netanyahu was a finalist in 1973 but the realities of the Yom Kippur War changed the course of events.

During his remarks closing the annual Independence Day event, the prime minister state “The Bible is the very basis and essence of our existence in the Land”.
