The Ministry of Environmental Affairs has issued an air quality alert for Sunday, Purim, 14 Adar, for the South and possibly the Center of the country due to heavy sandstorms.

The conditions are resulted in a significant haze in the South, which left persons with pulmonary conditions feeling the results of the sand storms. The situation began in Eilat and moved north.

Persons with cardiac and pulmonary illness were advised to remain indoors with closed windows, as were the elderly, pregnant women and small children.
