5:33PM IL: “A former senior Jerusalem City Hall official”, a member of the chareidi community, has been taken into custody. According to reports, the senior official was taken away by police “in handcuffs” in connection to the ongoing Holyland investigation. The suspect is reportedly being remanded at this time. There is a gag order on releasing any details pertaining to the identity of the suspect and events surrounding his arrest.

According to Yediot Ahronot former Mayor Uri Lupolianski was arrested today for allegedly being involved in the Holyland scandal. He stands accused of taking a brible of NIS 3mn ~ $800,000. Lupolianski denies any wrongdoing.
