Working hard, albeit quietly and behind the scenes, Yesh Atid party leader MK Yair Lapid continues to grow in popularity and support as recent polls verify.

Seven municipality heads have announced they are backing Lapid and joining Yesh Atid, giving him yet another major boost. They announced this officially at a Tuesday 9 Adar press conference organized by Lapid.

The Yesh Atid newcomers are; Head of the Golan Heights Regional Council Eli Malka, Bnei Shimon Regional Council Head Sigal Moran, Aravah Regional Council Head Dr. Eyal Blum, Emek HaMayanot Regional Council Head Yoram Karin, Yoav Regional Council Head Dr. Moti Harkavi-Tzarfati, Brenner Regional Council Head Doron Shidlov, and Megilot-Dead Sea Council Head Aryeh Cohen.

These are not large councils, but it is significant that two of the newcomers are leaving their parties: Eli Malka breaking from Likud and Sigal Moran leaving Machane Tzioni.
