Five American firemen are reporting for duty in Herzliya, volunteering for a period of time to familiarize themselves with local procedure and equipment. They are part of a team of American firemen whom have committed to head to Israel within 72 hours of being activated, a response team to give support in an emergency situation.

While firefighting techniques are more or less the same in Israel, they wish to familiarize themselves with local customs and the particular apparatus used by Israel’s firefighters.

The volunteer effort is connected to the Emergency Volunteers Project.
