Beit Shemesh Mayor Rav Moshe Abutbul stated the persons responsible for the violent yomtov attack in his city are not local residents, but people who came to the area for Pesach. The mayor added that they apparently came to spend seder with family – stressing in the Yifei Nof neighborhood of the community, significant resources are used to address the problems and realities of at-risk youths of the community.
The mayor expressed sorrow over the incident, accompanied by a sigh of relief that the alleged suspects are not residents. He telephoned the neighborhood’s rav on motzei yomtov to tell him City Hall is acting on the incident and he and his staff are pained, and will do whatever possible to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
According to the HaMevaser report, the mayor is in constant contact with his deputy, Rav David Viner, who visited the scene of the attack to speak with residents and learn the difficult facts in the case.
Police arrested two suspects who were released on bail and they are still searching for two Bat Yam residents believed involved in the attack as well. The four “hoodlums” were involved in the incident and according to eyewitness accounts; they tried to kill at least two of the group, which prompt police to indicate attempted murder charges may be filed against two of the suspects.

where is the mayor and why does the article make it sound like he is away somewhere on vacation and checking in via telephone. This near-tragedy should result in these hoodlums going to jail for a long time and kept off the streets.
I saw this attack from my window with my own eyes it was extremly scary and my kids were tromertised for days from it and wouldnt got to sleep in their own room and asked 50 times aday if the 2 boys (using there names) are okay. May they hAVE A SPEEDY rEFUAH SHELAMA and may it be the end of all hardships to Klal Yisroel

what happened was very simple 2 frum bocherem where speaking to an avrech when a chiloni visitor in the area came cover and started boxing and kicking them all over ( the 2 bocherim) since he thought they had told his daughter to take control over her dog and not walk around the way she was in this area. THEY DIDNT EVEN SPEAK TO THE GIRL AND WERE IN THEIR HOUSE WHEN THE PERSON WHO SPOKE TO HER DID IN A VERY NICE WAY. my comment is 1st hand since it happened outside my window and i saw the story unfold from A to Z it was extremely scary!!!
