The child of a Betar Illit resident was only trying to do what he was told, taking the bag of chametz remains on erev Pessach to burn in order to fulfill the mitzvah of biur chametz. The young man did just that but to the dismay of dad and the family, the child also burned a package containing $2,000.
As the young boy headed for his mission his dad realized what had taken place and he ran to stop the biur before it was too late, but it was not meant to be. The chametz and $2,000 went up in smoke as dozens of witnesses observed the fragments of the US currency go up in smoke.

1) Isn’t that illegal?
2) “The child of a Betar Illit resident was only trying to do what he was told”. Was he told to burn $2000?
Reb Yid,
If it was a mistake then clearly the legality or lack thereof of the action was irrelevant no?
And I am pretty sure that the article meant that he was told to take the packages for biur , the mistake was that the packages were miscategorized…
i think people today are confused what chometz is!
The Haggadah talks about 4 types of sons. I see we have several of the last type here amongst the commentators.
A family loses nearly two months income and all you fools can do is scoff?!!!
Softwords, I think you should either change your name or go back to bed and comment again when you are in a better mood. What is wrong with you?!?
