As Am Yisrael prepares in earnest to celebrate Pesach, once again remembering Yitzias Mitzrayim, the modern-day State of Israel seems incapable or unwilling to see the simple reality, to learn the lessons of the nation’s history, recent and as far back as the days preceding matan Torah.

In a timely fashion, one opinion piece calls on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to learn from Moshe and Aaron, “elderly yidden, their 80s”, armed with nothing more than the truth and the knowledge that they are following Hashem’s instructions as they boldly stood before Paro, instructing him to adhere to HaKadosh Baruch Hu’s words.

Addressing the most recent fatal incident involving IDF soldiers and terrorists along the Gaza border, on erev shabbos, a shootout that claimed the lives of an officer and soldier (http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/General+News/52588/IDF-Officer-%26-Soldier-Killed-in-Shootout-With-Terrorists-.html), Finance Minister Dr. Yuval Shteinitz on Sunday stated that it may be necessary to enter Gaza [once again] to topple the Hamas regime to bring the Hamas-based terror to an end once and for all.

Shteinitz told Israel Radio that Israel cannot accept the current renewal of rocket fire or the fact that Hamas is arming with longer-range missiles.

Responding to questions regarding strained relations between Israel and the United States, the senior minister stated American pressure on Israel is unproductive and out of place, pointing out that Israel continues to make great strides towards improving the PA (Palestinian Authority) economy in many areas and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has also agreed to halt construction throughout Yehuda and Shomron, yet PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) remains adamant in his refusal to take the necessary steps to meet Israel.
