Defense Minister Barak announces a full closure of PA areas throughout Yehuda and Shomron beginning at midnight Monday (Sunday night to Monday morning), preventing PA (Palestinian Authority) residents from crossing the Green Line into pre-1967 Green Line Israel, as is usually done prior to yomim tovim towards preventing terror attacks.
On motzei shabbos, border police completed deployment in Jerusalem with thousands of soldiers operating in the Old City and other areas during the Pesach week, all part of the heightened security precautions taken towards preventing terrorist attacks.
The closure on Yehuda and Shomron will remain in effect through the Pesach week.
The travel advisory from the Counterterrorism Bureau also calls on Israelis to avoid traveling to Egypt and those in Sinai are to leave immediately. This is due to intelligence information pointing to planned attacks against Israelis.
