The chareidim are furious after hearing the Yesh Atid party headed by Yair Lapid is going to be hosting a political assembly in the guest house in Bayit Vegan in about two weeks.
Yesh Atid organizers admit they are hoping some chareidim will attend the event, telling the public “any chareidi wishing to attend is welcome. They will be surprised to see just how much we want to conduct a dialogue with tm to reach understanding for we are brothers”.
Party officials add that Yair Lapid continues to travel the country, moving from area to area each and every week in the hope of meeting with a diverse population. Kenos organizers explain that of late, such events have been held in Afula, Kiryat Motzkin, Yahud, and others venues. He feels it provides an open forum for everyone to ask questions and to hear one another, explaining at the end of the day “We must learn to live with one another”.
Regarding those chareidim calling on Yesh Atid to cancel the event, organizers add “We regret those chareidim who often cry, and often rightfully so, against exclusion of the chareidi public space and public discourse choose their own reading exclusion of large sections of Israeli society using divisive discourse”.
“Our doors are open to anyone wishing to attend and to be part to hear up close how we can turn the State of Israel into a better place’.
