IDF Yehuda and Shomron Division Commander Brigadier-General Nitzan Alon told Israel Radio’s Reshet Bet on Sunday morning that while PA (Palestinian Authority) forces are doing something to limit anti-Israel violence, their abilities are limited.

The senior commander stated that undoubtedly, without the PA forces, IDF troops would have more work but that said, the PA forces are limited in their abilities to halt violence, referring to the shabbos morning violence in the Shechem area in which two PA teens were killed by troops firing to defend themselves against hundreds of attackers.

Alon explained that both Israel and the PA act in line with their respective interests, and at times, there are join interests, but by and large, while the PA forces do make an effort, their capabilities are indeed limited.
