Labor Party employee Mor Chazon went into active labor in Knesset on Tuesday, prompting officials to summon MK Dr. Ahmed Tibi to assist.

Interestingly, MK (Yisrael Beitenu) Alex Miller summoned the Arab MK. Miller is the author of the Nakba Bill which passed its first reading in Knesset on Tuesday despite sharp objections from Arab legislators.

Miller interrupted Tibi during a session, telling him “The Labor party secretary is in labor. You’re a gynecologist. Please see what the situation is”.

Chazon, in her 38th week of pregnancy, responded to Tibi’s questions, indicating she was having labor pains every two minutes. Tibi summoned Knesset physician Dr. Yitzchak Lifshitz, telling him to summon an ambulance as well. Lifshitz arrived as did an ambulance, and she was transported to Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital.

Tibi expressed his sorrow that he was unable to deliver in Knesset, realizing it would have made him the first serving MK to deliver a baby in Knesset.
