Court Awards NIS 750,000 in Electrocution Lawsuit

The Haifa Magistrate’s Court has ruled in favor of petitioners, awarding NIS 750,000 payment to the family of an Arab boy who was electrocuted. The boy’s family filed suit against Israel Electric Company.

The incident occurred about 30 months ago, in the Yatir Forest. The victim, Mamdouh Qiyan climbed an electric pole and was electrocuted to death.

The plaintiff explained there were no warning signs and even worse, no barriers to prevent anyone from doing exactly what Mamdouh did, leading to his death.
