Treasury officials have announced that beginning April 1, 2010; the first prize in the state’s Mifal HaPayis lottery may not exceed NIS 28 million. If the first prize increases as a result of no one winning, the money will also be added to other prizes to keep the first prize under the new ceiling.
Lottery officials have been instructed to implement new drawings to accommodate the new directive.
