Defense Minister Ehud Barak left on Monday for an official visit to Spain, who holds the rotating European Union presidency. Mr. Barak responded to an invitation extended by Spain’s Defense Minister, Carme Chacon.
During his visit, he is also expected to meet with Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. He will most likely also be meeting with Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos.
Barak hopes to return home to Israel on Wednesday morning, but prior to his return, he hopes to sign a strategic joint defense agreement.
