Some 3,000 police have been on alert status in and around Har HaBayis since the weekend in expectation of widespread Islamic violence. Today, Tuesday, police explain will be the true test, a day on which violence may reach its peak as Hamas declared Tuesday a Day of Rage.
Restrictions on the Temple Mount remain today, barring any males without Israeli identification cards and those under 50. There are no restrictions for women. The closure imposed on PA (Palestinian Authority) residents of Yehuda and Shomron remains in place as well, preventing residents from crossing into Green Line Israel. As always, exceptions are made to accommodate humanitarian situations.
The scheduled dedication of the Churva Shul in the Old City of Yerushalayim was held on Monday night as planned and Baruch Hashem, barring a few isolated incidents, the area remained quiet and under control.
Police released statements early on Tuesday morning that troops are prepared for every eventuality. A number of rock-throwing attacks were reported earlier in the morning in areas of eastern Yerushalayim. No injuries were reported.
