Police Approve Shiloach Fact-Finding Protest

Israel Police on Thursday have approved a visit to Shiloach by Itamar Ben-Givir, the Knesset aide to MK (Ichud HaLeumi) Dr. Michael Ben-Ari to visit the Shiloach area of Yerushalayim. The permit will permit Ben-Givir and the dozens expected to accompany him to get a first-hand look at the widespread illegal Arab construction in the eastern capital. The permit given to Ben-Givir and Baruch Marzel permits no more than 70 people to take part in the fact-finding protest event.

Ben-Givir commented on Friday that he will not permit the continuation of the government’s discriminatory enforcement of the law, tenaciously monitoring and destroying every illegal outpost in Yehuda and Shomron while opting not to enforce the law in the Arab sector. Ben-Givir stated that today, 216 illegal Arab homes in Shiloach are subject to demolition, and the orders have already been filed but the government simply is scared to act against the Arab sector. He insists “we must compel authorities to demolish those illegal homes as well”.

The event is set to take place on 6 Nissan, Sunday, March 21st.

  1. Arutz Sheva reported that the Elad organization, representing the Jews of the area, are completely opposed to this unnecessary provocation.

Is YWN now more right-wing, pro-settler, than Arutz Sheva?
