PA Says ‘No’ To Indirect Talks With Israel

Following a late-night Arab League meeting addressing Israel’s announced plans to continue building in Yerushalayim, league Secretary-General Amr Moussa announced that the PA (Palestinian Authority) will not agree to the mediated indirect talks with Israel as was the case prior to the announced construction.

The PA has opted to maximize the situation, seeking to place additional pressure on Israel, portraying Jerusalem as the party responsible for derailing the diplomatic process. The PA’s condemnation is support by similar messages heard from the White House and a number of European nations, including France and Britain.

The Arab League convened in urgent session following the developments, realizing the political climate is correct for such a move, backing Israel into a corner following condemnatory statements from US Vice President Joe Biden during his visit to Jerusalem earlier in the week.

  1. In the words of the late, great Abba Eban, the Palestinians never miss an opportunity to not make peace in the Middle East.
