As a result of the Lev Malka blood drive in the Geula area of Yerushalayim, over 800 units of blood were donated. Organization director Aaron Aberman was extremely pleased, explaining it is a commendable quantity considering the entire drive lasted a number of hours.
Over 800 people responded to the blood drive, waiting patiently to fulfill the mitzvah of assisting others.
Aberman plans additional blood drives in other neighborhoods in the near future towards assisting blood banks around the country. He stressed that thousands of units of blood are needed. He explains hospitals around the country are constantly in need of blood and the strain on the nation’s blood banks is enormous.
Seeking to set a personal example, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat arrived to donate a unit of blood as well.
