Imprisoned terrorist Abdullah Barghouti told the Nazareth District Court on Sunday that if released, he would continue his “resistance to Israeli occupation”, i.e., terrorism. Barghouti, not to be confused with Marwan Barghouti, the Fatah Tanzim leader serving five life sentences in an Israeli prison, is a former commander of a Hamas military wing in Gaza.
Barghouti’s hearing surrounded the terms of his imprisonment, as he seeks to be released from solitary confinement. He stated Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is preventing a prisoner release deal and therefore, he knows he will not be released anytime soon.
Speaking directly to the Shalits, he stated their son Gilad is treated well, eating well, and living in good conditions, stressing he is not being mistreated.
The master terrorist is serving 67 life sentences after being convicted in 2003 of planning terror attacks in which 66 Israelis were murdered.
Addressing the court in fluent Hebrew, Barghouti stated the prime minister “is busy with Kadima and other matters,” insisting Hamas has signed the deal but Netanyahu is backtracking.
He called for dialogue between Israel and Hamas, but vowed to continue “combating the occupation”, vowing to keep on fighting until all of “my land of Palestine is liberated”.

I don’t understand why Israel doesn’t give the death penalty to terrorists in jail. They certainly give the death penalty when they assassinate terrorists out of jail.
The picture is Marwan Barghouti.
