Sunday Afternoon News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


A policeman sustained light injuries when chareidim protesting against excavations in Tzipori threw rocks during a protest in the Meah Shearim area.

**Officials in India have made a formal request for anti-terror assistance from Israeli experts after the Mumbai and other attacks in that country. An Israeli delegation of counter-terrorism experts will be traveling to India to assist.

**Dozens of Arabs on Sunday morning pelted security forces with rocks SW of PA-occupied Beit Lechem. Soldiers used riot-control adjuncts to restore order.

**A 5-y/o child is reported in good condition after she was forgotten in a vehicle in Ashkelon.

**The Ministerial Legislative Committee on Sunday once again delayed approval of the expatriates voting bill. The bill seeks to grant voting rights to Israelis living abroad. Justice Minister Neeman asked to postpone the vote for another week, hoping to win over Shas and Labor party support during that time period.

**A 3-y/o boy was found wandering around HaNasi Street in Chadera. He was taken to Hillel Yafeh Hospital, apparently dehydrated.
