The Arabs are indeed maximizing the cabinet decision to add the Machpelah and Kever Rachel to the national heritage site list, decrying the decision and calling on the international Muslim community to come out against it.
During a meeting on Monday with visiting US Senator John Kerry, who heads the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee, opposition leader MK Tzipi Livni warned against a Arab “religious war” in response to the cabinet’s decision.
She warned the senator that the situation may deteriorate rapidly, issuing a call to PA (Palestinian Authority) leaders to control the response before the situation gets out of hand.
The senator also met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, discussing the growing Iranian threat.
