America Fails to See Urgency in Halting Iranian Nuclear Program

It appears that unfortunately, the US administration is not in sync with Israeli intelligence reports, reports echoing the concerns of France and other European nations, not to mention Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, all waiting for the Western nations to bring a halt to Iran’s nuclear program.

While US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton indicates there is no timetable for the crippling economic sanctions that will hopefully halt Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, the nation’s mentioned above are anxiously wondering what will happen if Iran’s achieves its goal, well-aware that a nuclear capable Iran will destabilize the entire region.

Clinton is indicating that the sanctions could take months before being implemented, seemingly ignoring the harsh warnings heard just last week in face-to-face meetings on Capitol Hill with Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who warned the window of opportunity to halt Iran without a military strike is rapidly closing and the Western nations must act firmly and expeditiously.

Speaking to reporters on a flight to Buenos Aires, Clinton stated “We are moving expeditiously and thoroughly in the Security Council. I can’t give you an exact date but I would assume sometime in the next several months,” confirming America’s lack of urgency regarding the Iranian nuclear agenda.

There is still much speculation regarding an IAF strike over Iran, a mission that most feel would result in a retaliatory attack, but also agreeing in the face of the alternative, a nuclear Iran, it is Israel’s only option – aware a nuclear Iran spells an existential threat to Israel. While Israel has publically indicated such a move is not planned at present, it is known that the air force has rehearsed such a scenario on several occasions and it is in line with recent visits from very high-ranking American defense and intelligence community officials, including the head of the CIA and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

In addition, US Senator John Kerry, who heads the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, commented in Jerusalem on Monday that the US administration remains committed to Israel’s security and it is carefully monitoring the Iranian nuclear threat.

US Vice President Joe Biden is set to deliver an address next week in Tel Aviv University during which he is expected to address the Iranian threat and the White House commitment to efforts to bring about peace between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority).

  1. #1 there are smart people in the current administration…the problem is that they don’t want to give up their power by not going along with the messiah Obama (who has his head buried in the sand and wants the whole world to love him)the exception being Israel.

  2. The real issue is that Obama has way too much to deal with in trying to fix the US economy and try to pass his stupid health care bill. I promise you, his healthcare bill is the legacy he wants to leave behind and he will put that before any other issue as we have already seen. His arrogance and selfishness is ridiculous. Israel can get wiped off the map for all he cares as long as his precious Obamacare gets passed. Whoever voted for Obama I don’t know how you sleep at night.

  3. what is israel supposed to do? Maybe they should form an alliance with Soudi Arabia and bomb Iran’s faco;ities. After all, the Soudi’s don’t want Iran to have the bomb either.

  4. i hate to be the one who rains on your parade of silliness, but the united states has made it very clear that they cannot allow iran to become a nuclear state….
that is why theyre pushing for sanctions, because according to us intelligence, iran is several years away from having a nuclear arsenal.
