A very large poster depicting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan towering over a bent over Israeli President Shimon Peres is without a doubt Turkey’s response to the recent embarrassing incident in which Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon sat Turkey’s emissary to Israel at his side, on a lower chair, resulting in a diplomatic storm over Turkey’s embarrasement.

To add to the insult, the large poster’s caption reads, “Erdogan is a leader before whom the world bows”.

Speaking off the record, some officials in Jerusalem state it is clear that such an incident must enjoy approval from senior state officials, but officially, the Foreign Ministry and the President’s Residence are remaining silent.
