One must marvel over some of the statements released regarding Iran by senior American officials, including one released by Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who stated Iran’s most recent announcement, that it is moving ahead with two additional nuclear enrichment sites, is “further evidence” that Iran is unwilling to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and international community.

As Israel anxiously awaits the international community’s announcement, to impose crippling sanctions on the Iranians, the highest ranking American military officer announces Iran will not cooperate. The eye-opening message is among the many that indicate the Americans, and the Europeans for that matter, simply don’t get the message, that the Iranian threat is immediate, growing and not only is Israel’s alone, but one that presents formidable concerns to American and European interests in the region.

US State Department spokesman Phillip Crowley added that American is reviewing potential targets for stern economic sanctions, with Washington planning to present its recommendations to the UN in the weeks to come.
