Authorities report that a woman in her 40s picked up her mail from a post office in Migdal Ha’emek on Monday morning, leaving the building without reporting anything unusual. She opened the packages as she was walking, shocked to see electric wires, prompting her to drop them on the ground and summon police.
Bomb demolition experts checked the packages and determined they were indeed mail bombs. This resulted in the order to halt the delivery and pick up of parcels nationwide.
Postal Authority officials went into high security mode and packages around the country were inspected. Police have released instructions to alert citizens as how to determine if mail should arouse suspicion.
