About a month ago, the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) arrested a terrorist in Chevron, Muhand Abu Iwad, who during interrogation admitted to taking part in an attempted attack against IDF soldiers near Beit Omer, north of Chevron. He was taken into custody a number of hours after he attempted to detonated a gasoline tank positioned near the entrance of Beit Omar where soldiers were operating.
He told interrogators that he belongs to a Fatah faction operating in the village, and the attempted attack was captured on film using a video camera furnished by the left-wing B’tselem human rights organization, a camera given to them to document human rights violations, i.e. to entrap IDF soldiers operating in the area as is the organization’s modus operandi.
A B’tselem official who is in charge of distributing cameras to the area denies the report, stating the camera used in this case is not one of the organization’s Makor Rishon reports.
