Israel: Frum Cops Claim Discrimination on Shabbos

Frum policeman and policewomen feel that demands made of them towards combating crime on shabbos are an infringement on their rights and in essence, discriminatory.

They explain that non-frum policepersons are able to arrive, complete their shifts and head home, but they are compelled to spend shabbos in the station since they are observant.

The daily Yisrael HaYom reports Israel Police rabbonim are working towards a solution that would involve a shabbos goy driving them to and from their stationhouses, similar to what many hospitals do.
