Lebanese army officer Lt.-Colonel Rezvan Shahen has been taken into custody according to Lebanese defense establishment officials.

The officer stands accused of collaborating with Israel during the Second Lebanon War, passing photographs and other intelligence information that assisted the IDF in planning attacks during the war.

If convicted of the charges against him, he faces the death penalty.
