6:00PM IL: [UPDATE BELOW] Yet another protest is taking place in the Meah Shearim area of Yerushalayim, once again in response to the arrests in Meron. Today’s renewed protest is the result of a court ruling to extend the remand of Yonah Eichler for two additional days, prompting the response in Meah Shearim. Rabbonim called on the tzibur to gather on Yoel Street by the Satmar Yeshiva.
The turmoil surrounds the arrests of Eida affiliated persons who attempted to halt excavations at Kever Rashbi in Meron, insisting bones that were found are human remains and not that of animals as claimed by workers.
The late afternoon protest has once again disrupted bus service to the area as many commuters are finding themselves standard and missing other buses as a result.
UPDATED 7:10PM IL: The Meah Shearim area if currently filled with the acrid smoke emanating from the PVC garbage dumpsters set ablaze in the Monday evening rioting by chareidim on Shivtei Yisrael and the Meah Shearim area. Once again, hoodlums dressed in chareidi garb are indiscriminately destroying property and create havoc in the area, bringing bus service to a halt.
Once again, the protests surround the arrest and remand of persons affiliated with the Eida community protesting ongoing excavations in Meron at Kever Rashbi. A court decision on Monday to extend the remand of suspect Yonah Eichler for two days is said to have sparked tonight’s violence.

Why do the rabbonim of Yerushalayim think thatn they and their followers do not have to conform to the laws of the country in which they live?
It is a very simple question, so it should not be beyond the ability of Eida supporters to answer.
“22:18 Dozens of Haredis detained in Jerusalem protest over arrested community member (Haaretz)”
By the way, there has been a helicopter (assumably police considering that it has a very strong search light) circling over Givat Shaul – Kiryat Moshe for 2 hours now. It seems to be circling mainly around the area where the Angel bakery is located. For 2 hours, non-stop. I think there might even have been 2 at some point.
How the Eida loves teir protests. Even if it is support of totally unqualified “experts” who think it is alright to disregard any law that does not suit them.
I think the best punishment would be to get these people jobs! None of these guys are learning anyways…
Its amazing how you can report a story so falsly. The protests are because after some “frum” yid snitched on another jew to the police and signs were hung up about him being a moser, the police arrested the one who wrote the signs! They say that since a moser is chayiv misa according to the shulchan aruch the signs were inciting murder!?!? The state of Israel is a chilul hashem just because it exists, therefore everything must be done to stop the chilul hashem.
