Chareidi Man Plans to Run for Bank Leumi Directorate


Yosef Mauzson, 26, a member of the chareidi community and a shareholder in Bank Leumi was interviewed by Kikar.net, where he announced he plans to submit his name as a contender for the bank’s director slot.

He explains that according to the bank’s own 1987 law, any shareholder is eligible for the position and as such, he plans to submit his name and begin lobbying, speaking to the major shareholders towards appointment to the spot.

The young Gerrer Chossid explains that he feels there may be more qualified individuals, but he is nevertheless qualified for the position. He feels a chareidi individual may run can be qualified, as he is.

The dual citizen (American/Israeli) Mauzson explains that his Torah studies have brought him to a level of proficiency regarding Jewish law, and he is an expert in accounts and finances, speaking of his experience in the private sector, running an internet business, and experience in commodities trading. In the past he has been affiliated with the chareidi weekly Sha’a Tova and others, and today earns a livelihood writing for a new publication. (Yechiel Spira – YWN Israel)
