In the ongoing effort to prosecute Golan Heights resident and Kach activist Michael Ben-Chorin, the state appealed a Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court ruling that states openly praising the actions of Dr. Baruch Goldstein does not constitute violating the state laws prohibiting incitement. The case refers to a 2003 TV interview in which Ben-Chorin praised Goldstein’s actions.
Dr. Goldstein killed 29 Islamic worshippers in Ma’arat HaMachpelah on Purim 1994; acting on reports he received as the area’s senior IDF medical officer that the Arabs planned a major attack. Dr. Goldstein was under instruction to establish a major field hospital in the area to prepare for many injuries.
In his words of praise, Ben-Chorin called Goldstein “righteous” and pointed out Goldstein’s actions prevented a planned massacre of the Chevron Jewish community.
After he was acquitted in the lower court, the state took its case to the Jerusalem District Court, which supported the original ruling.
The court added that Ben-Chorin’s statements were indeed deplorable, but that is not to say they are a violation of the law.

So the Arabs were planning a major attack and Goldstein stopped it before it started and they call Goldstein the ‘terrorist’.

i’m not convinced that baruch goldstein heard of any such attack, these rumors came about some time later.
if he did hear such things, he did the right thing. if he did not, he should burn.
i do agree with you though, that when anyone hears his name they immediately say he was a terrorist, before listening to the whole story.
