The family of IDF Sergeant Major Ihab Khatib z”l is no stranger to heartache, with the latest incident, the fatal stabbing attack of Ihab adding to the two previous tragedies that have befallen the them.

For Farcha, the matriarch of the family, seeing the IDF officers in dress uniform arriving at the door is not an event she has not experienced in the past, but it is without a doubt the nightmare of any parent with children serving in the military in ERertz Yisrael. Ten years ago, Zahar Khatib, her brother, a major in the IDF, was killed in an operational accident.

Three years ago, she lost a sister in a Katyusha rocket attack, and now, her son.
