Escorted by prominent members of the Belz community in Eretz Yisrael and Leumit HMO officials from the Jerusalem branch, Nissim Alon, the kupat cholim’s director-general expressed his appreciation for viewing the magnificent edifice, the main shul in the Belz Beis Medresh in Kiryat Belz. Alon stated it is by far the most “impressive, splendid and magnificent shul” that he has ever seen in his life.

The visit is part of Leumit’s ongoing effort to improve relations with the chareidi community in Eretz Yisrael. Alon first visited the Belz-affiliated clinic on Bar Ilan Street and Ezra L’Marpeh, getting a first-hand look at the level of care provided by his HMO. (The recent HaMevaser survey of the chareidi community in Israel revealed Leumit is the HMO of 22% of the nationwide chareidi community).

The chassidim escorting Alon explained the history of the shul and the Belz chassidus, its roots and the former rebbes.
