The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in Jordan, Filippo Grandi on Tuesday called on the international agency to approve urgent assistance for Palestinians, another $100 million. He stated the funds are required for health and educational services. $4.7 million would assist in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, Yehuda, Shomron and Gaza.
According to a Jordanian report, Grandi called Egypt and the Arab League to pressure Israel to lift the blockade on Gaza.
Grandi was appointed to his current post last month.
