Dozens of supporters of Gilad Shalit held a Friday protest outside the Prime Minister’s Residence, using the unseasonably cold temperatures to send a clear message, “It’s cold for Gilad too”, responding to reports of a breakdown in negotiations with Hamas towards a prisoner release deal.
The daily Yisrael HaYom reports that family members of the captive soldier, who has been in Hamas captivity for 1,323 days, will not remain silent forever, concerned over the lag in progress. Mrs. Aviva Shalit, the captive soldier’s mother, recently stated she fears if the current opportunity to sign an agreement with Hamas is lost, it will spell a “death sentence for Gilad”.
