According to Arab media reports, two Israel Navy missile boats passed through the Suez Canal on Thursday amid heavy Egyptian security to ensure their passage was uneventful. Egyptian and other unconfirmed reports state the naval vessels may be heading to the Persian Gulf.

There is much speculation surrounding such a move but military officials and national leaders in Jerusalem remain tight-lipped at this time.

According to reports, Egyptian officials imposed maximum security precautions, closing the canal to all other vessels as the Israeli naval vessels passed through.
