About 100 women and their children arrived in Bnei Brak on Tuesday night in three buses to take part in a Yad L’Achim evening event for the fortunate people who were saved from the horrors of their former lives. There were women from around the world, including some who were set free as recently as two months ago, from Arab villages, all thanking Yad L’Achim for the shlichus which has given them another chance at life, as yidden.
HaGaon HaRav Sholom Lifshitz addressed the forum, with the rav stating that as a result of the mesirus nefesh of the women, who are truly sacrificing to provide their children with a torah education and a life of yiddishkeit, they will hasten the redemption.
Some of the women stood and told their story, including one who explained she is the daughter of a sheikh. There were tears of solidarity and strength, and a drawing was held for a NIS 1,000 prize, with the winner explaining the money has literally saved her from financial collapse. She immediately donated half the sum back to Yad L’Achim for the next lottery.
