The abrupt change in temperature is indeed noticeable in Jerusalem on Wednesday morning as heavy cloud move in and the predicted storm seems to be arriving on schedule. The intermittent showers began during the morning rush hour, and the clouds are taking up position, seemingly awaiting the order to begin. The intermittent showers have been increasing in intensity as the day moves along.
The weatherman predicts the heavy rain will begin during the night, Wednesday to Thursday, working its way from north to south, which in the northern Negev will be preceded by sandstorms.
The predictions for snow accumulations in high altitude northern areas have not changed, and snow is expected to begin on Mt. Hermon, working south to the higher-elevation Golan Heights and Galil region.
Snow is expected to announce itself for the first time this winter in Yerushalayim as well, on Thursday, but the chances of any significant accumulations are low, but forecasters add if the temperature drops a bit more, we might be in for a surprise.
The stormy weather is expected to continue on erev shabbos and shabbos.
