Despite the fact that the Petach Tikvah Magistrate’s Court ordered the release of Tzvi Sukkot and Shlomo Gilbart on Sunday, as was reported by YWN-Israel, the Shin Bet and Shai District police insist the two, along with a third suspect, a minor, are responsible for the December 2009 arson attack against a mosque in the Shomron village of Yusuf.
The authorities told the media that they admittedly lack evidence to move ahead with an indictment, but nevertheless they are certain the three are indeed guilty of the charges leveled against them and that is why they were arrested.
Ichud HaLeumi MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari has expressed outrage, calling on the appropriate government agencies to take action against the Jewish Unit of the Shin Bet. Ben-Ari stated that the fact that the suspects were arrested without evidence pointing to their guilt is an outrage and it is time that the Jewish Unit of the Shin Bet begins adhering to the law and recognizes the rule of law in a democratic society.

Policemen who are “sure” but can’t convince a usually friendly judge, are probably wrong.
“they are certain the three are indeed guilty of the charges leveled against them and that is why they were arrested.”
I guess we don’t a “judge and jury” system in the State of Israel anymore. Just ask the Shin Bet and Shai who know absolutely everything. If it is their opinion that someone is guilty, so it be.
And, of course, we can fully rely on their honesty, especially when dealing with the despised Hesder system.
