A pair of tefillin and sifrei kodesh went up in flames in a blaze in a dormitory in Yeshiva Ketana Ohr Elchanan in the Givat Shaul area of Yerushalayim. Firefighters fought the blaze for over an hour, resulting in damage to adjacent dorm rooms as well.

When the fire on Alkabetz Street was discovered, the flames were too harsh and it was already too late to enter to try to pull out the tefillin. Baruch Hashem, there were no reports of loss of life or injuries.
