Marvin and Aliz Separk, the parents of Private Kurei Separk z”l are blaming the IDF with malfeasance and nonfeasance in their son’s death.
Family members explain the family is pained and devastated, but above all, angry at the IDF, adding physicians at Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center explained that if the treatment of their son would have been more aggressive from the onset, his death might have been prevented.
Kurei was niftar last Wednesday after about 25 days in a hospital, and the family has yet to get up from shiva, but the parents are convinced that if the medical care would have been what it should have, they would not be sitting shiva today.
They explained the chain of events, their son’s illness and complaints, and how he was treated as if he had a virus, given an infusion and sent home, waiting hours upon hours to see a physician. The process until he was taken out of active service was prolonged, compelled to travel by bus from Kiryat Gat Akko while being totally exhausted and in a weakened state, experiencing difficulty breathing. A close friend explains that “the parents simply do not understand how he was permitted to travel hundreds of kilometers on a bus in his weakened condition”.
When his father picked him up in Akko, he was barely capable of standing. The following day, he was taken to an IDF base in Kiryat Shmona, and from there to Ziff Hospital in Tzfas. When they arrived in the emergency room, he collapsed and never regained consciousness. He was rushed to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.
A senior physician involved in treating the soldier is quoted by the daily Yisrael HaYom as explaining his condition was very serious upon arrival at Rambam. He adds that if a diagnosis would have been made earlier, it would have significantly assisted in his treatment.
The IDF Spokesman’s Office released a statement of consolation to the parents, adding Chief Medical Officer Brigadier-General Dr. Nachman Ash has ordered a full probe of the events. The findings of the probe will be presented to the family and relevant officials.

this is a sad story of cruel IDF treatment of a fellow soldier who gave up his life for them. However wat about the parents’ emuna and bitachon, this is wat Hashem wanted coz they had a good son.
Nowhere in this article is there a description or naming of his illness. This article insinuates a lot, but tells us nothing.
The tone of this article says “terrible IDF”, but in fact tells us nothing.
#2, this article is actually referring to a previous news story from Jan. 25th, and they should have provided a link. You can read more details about it here.
