More Troubles from At-Risk Youths in Ashdod

Once again, the residents of Ashdod’s Rova Zayin neighborhood were victimized by the juvenile delinquents referred to in Eretz Yisrael as “Shabavnikim”, this time spray painting defamatory graffiti against local police. They targeted the shopping area on Rashbi Street, making sure to give a store which they broke into a number of weeks ago a double dose of graffiti.

Newly-installed security cameras, some private and some municipality owned captured the vandals in the act. As such, police expect to make arrests today, Tuesday. City Hall sent workers first thing in the morning to begin the task of removing their ugly work.

  1. Maybe its time to institute in Israel what they did in New York about 20 years ago (or maybe more) when the graffiti “artists” got out of control…
They banned selling spray paint to anyone under the age of 18. Hardware stores and other places that sell it became obligated to keep it in locked cases.
Sad that things have reached that stage, but if they have, then ya’ have to do what ya’ have to do, to keep Eretz Yisrael from looking like what New York did in the ’80s (and in some places still does).

  2. Excuse me, but these juvenile delinquents are our yiddishe kinder who we are all responsible for. Push the sin away while pulling the child closer with love and you will see a big difference. I don’t want to see any neighborhood terrorized by these kids but it all starts with denigrating these kids who don’t fit into the cookie cutter black hat mold you carved for them. you spit at them, they will spit back at you.

  3. #2:

I really love how these people who have no idea of what the situation is start spouting off about, “Oh, it’s our fault, we need to stop trying to tell them what to do, we have to love them more and suddenly they’ll stop doing all of these things.” Are you there? Neither am I. The difference is, I don’t pretend to know the root of all of the problems and say that it’s our fault. Unless you are the Ribbono Shel Olam – which I doubt, because I don’t think He usually comments on these blogs – who are you to decide that it’s everyone else’s fault. Guess what – sometimes it’s the kids who are causing their own problems.

  4. There’s no need to categorize mazikim who have shredded any sense of human respect as “youth at risk”, a caption we’ve become accustomed to describing young people who are really good, but for some unfortunate reason have fallen out of the yeshiva system. In the times of chaza’l, AS WELL AS IN OUR TIMES TODAY, beth din would forcefully hold these thugs responsible and make them pay for the damages.

I think we have gone over the edge in applying too much TLC to anyone who breaks away from the torah’s ways, while never missing an opportunity to BASH, BASH, BASH all real bnei torah and yeshivos. Yes, no question we have to reach out to anyone who shows the any level of desire to listen. But for those delinquents who just want to wreck all of society, the baal hagaddah already tells us how to deal with the “ben harasha”, “hakheh et shinav”.

  5. I’m really astounded at the audacity of calling one self, “DaasTorahWtchdg” . If someone was really qualified for that “position”, he probably would be doing something else.

  6. #6…its just a “username” Relax, its like on Purim u dress up like what u wanna really be, so this user wants to have “daas torah”. & who r u? “Esrog” 78…u take succos esrog and post it as your name!?….just kidding:=))
