During an organizational function in Damascus on Friday, Hamas leader Khaled Meshal announced the terrorist organization remains firm in its demands for the release of prisoners in talks with Israel surrounding a prisoner release deal. Meshal has not veered from his standard diatribe, blaming Israel entirely for the lack of progress in talks to bring Gilad Shalit home.
“Shalit will not return home or see the light of day or until Israel meets all our demands, the release of our prisoners” Meshal is quoted as saying.
The senior terrorist leader is also quoted as saying that “unlike his predecessor, [Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert, [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu is unwilling to accept the responsibility for a deal on his shoulders. At the last moment, he backed down after agreeing earlier, torpedoing a deal”.
Meshal stressed however that they have not reached a dead end and negotiations via the German mediator are continuing.

I thought there had been an earlier claim that
Hamas was willing to recognize Israel’s right to exist?
How are they supposed to exist if they are not allowed to capture and imprison terrorists that Hamas wants released?
Hamas is showing absolutly no change in their beliefs or strategy and yet we are (according to the earlier article)supposed to accept them at their word that they now accpet Israel?
