Security forces agents on Wednesday evening saved an avreich who was attacked by Arabs from Qadis, a village near Modi’in Illit.
Unfortunately, too many Modi’in Illit residents enter Dir Qadis willingly, to have their vehicles looked after by the local Arab mechanic and tire shop, placing themselves in danger to save money, reportedly, a significant amount compared to Israeli garages.
In this case, according to a Kikar report, the incident almost ended in tragedy, when an avreich came to a local tire repair shop in Dir Qadis seeking assistance. After completing the work, the shop owner asked for a sum higher than the customer was accustomed to paying. The avreich refused to pay the amount, feeling it was simply exorbitant. The store owner explained this time, the work was more complicated, but to no avail, the avreich remained adamant, refusing to pay. The shop owner summoned his friends to ‘assist him’.
Baruch Hashem, ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) agents were in the area, monitoring the events taking place. They summoned soldiers nearby, from the elite Duvdevan unit, who arrived as the shop owner and his assistants were beating the avreich. A number of Qadis residents were taken into custody.
Kikar adds that one security force member who observed the incident stated they were not too far from lynching the avreich but the Shin Bet saved the day.
Community leaders are once again urging residents to remain far away from the Arab villages, stating to enter is taking one’s life in one’s hands to save a bit of money.

bottom line is it wasnt even a terrorist attack saving money is not lways worth it in any case
Boruch Hashem for miraclrs!
B”H they got him out of there, but why would someone argue with violent people?
A seudah hodaah should be make by the family inviting all their messengers of safety (combat soldiers).
(#4 why thank you for your directions theyre outstanding)
shoimer pisaim hashem
It sounds like this ehrleche yid may simply have been trying to refuse to pay the arab for work that was actually performed….g-d knows what would have happened to him if he tried to the same shctick at one of the Russsian mafia auto repair shops in Tel Aviv
I am very happy they saved the man and he should make a Seudas Hodaa (or at least Bench Gomel).
And obviously these violent Arabs need to be locked up for a very long time.
I wonder though if the Arab Mechanic was necessarily a cheat, just because it may look that way at a glance and it is always easy to think Arab against Jew, the Arab ‘must’ be guilty.
But do we really know for sure?
Was it perhaps possible, that the work was truly more complicated this time and that the higher price may not have been so unjustified?
I used to work in various retail establishments and on many occasions people have come in and bought items and complained that the price was way to high for what they bought.
These were set prices, that were either labeled on the item or posted on a menu (in food stores).
It was clear before the customer even decided on that item, what he would have to pay and yet some still got burning mad at me just because I was the one ringing up the sale and had nothing to do with setting the prices.
And in many cases the prices were not so high to begin with.
But if the customer had ever bought it somehwere else for a few cents less, that automatically made ‘me’ a gonnif, just for ringing up the price set by my boss or by someone else.
So who can say for sure that the Arab was the guilty one, for charging what he charged?
For being a violent thug, he was guilty of that without a doubt.
It is illegal for an Israeli to bring his car to a mechanic in the territories. This is well known and posted throughout those areas, included in the area aroound Modiin Illit, which is Beitar.
In a real newspaper, the names of the “community leaders” would appear.
#8: you’re right, but modi’in Illit is NOT beitar ilit, it’s actually… MODI’IN ILIT! 🙂
#8 – Modiin Illit is near Hashmonaim. Beitar Illit is near the Gush. But you’re right – the law is posted everywhere.
#7 – Your post is interesting but irrelevant. We’re not talking about some Yiddel going into the 7/11 in Flatbush. This is a case of some Avreich trying to save a few shekels by going to an Arab mechanic instead of a Jewish one that could probably use the פרנסה. Besides being ethically wrong, it’s just plain dumb. Hopefully he learnt his lesson.
11, maybe kids have to be raised to know that to be a technician of some sort who can serve other Jews is an honorable option, and that historically, such technicians and other sorts of workers have still clocked considerable hours in learning in, written sefarim, etc.
#12 – Absolutely, but if they live in communities where no “tatties” work, how are they going to learn this?
Sorry for this avreich. The Jewish people think they rAther do business with goyim because they are cheaper. Remember Hashem determines panausa.
Let a fellow Jew make a living. I work and I have seen it all and so try to get your workers to work for them behind your back. Think there is really Hashem in the World.Give a Jew a living they have to live WITH YOU
Well #11 your point about him being dumb and trying to save money at the expense of not patronizing a fellow Jew who could use the money proves the revelence of what I said.
My point was that perhaps the Jew in this case was the wrong one and all you did was come up with more reasons why the Jew was wrong.
#15 – Where in your post did you say the the Jew was wrong?
