A chareidi soldier, a grandson of HaGaon Rav Rosenthal Shlita, the Av Beis Din Haifa, was seriously injured in an incident on his southern base on Sunday. Miraculously, a number of hours following the injury, his condition improved sharply. It appears the soldier, who is a member of a tank crew, was struck over the head with a hammer that fell from a height.
As first-response medical personnel were treating him his conditioned worsened and a chopper was dispatched, flying him to the trauma center of Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva. He was intubated upon his arrival at the hospital, with the medical team assisting his ventilations.
His condition on Monday is listed as light-to-moderate Baruch Hashem.
