Former US special envoy to the Mideast, Dennis Ross, who today serves as an advisor to US President Barak Obama, met in secret with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Ross accompanied US National Security Advisor James Jones, who YWN-Israel reported last week was in Israel. While the news of Jones’ meetings eventually made the media, the fact that Ross accompanied him and held senior meetings was not reported last week.
Ross is a senior advisor to the National Security Council, viewed as being very close to President Obama, and a senior advisor to the president regarding the Iranian threat. Therefore, there is speculation that Ross and the prime minister did indeed discuss the Iranian matter, in addition to the fact that Ross was recently in China, meeting with leaders in Beijing, calling upon them to pressure Iran into adhering to Quartet demands to halt the nuclear program.
After leaving his position as envoy, Ross returned to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy as counselor and Ziegler distinguished fellow. He became chair of the Jerusalem-based think tank, the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute, funded and founded by the Jewish Agency in 2002.

Scary to think that those of the madrega of Moe, Larry, and Curly are in charge of things during such dangerous times.
